How to become a Member ?
The Qatar Society of Ophthalmology (QSO) was formed by leading Qatari ophthalmologists as a society within the Qatar Doctors Association (QDA).
Membership:
- Active society membership: you need to be an ophthalmologist and a member of the Qatar doctor’s association.
- Affiliated society membership: eligible doctors are ophthalmologists with an active Qatari work license and have no active membership with the Qatar Doctors Association. registration
- Honor society membership
Retired Qatari and non-Qatari ophthalmologists with long contributions to the field of ophthalmology in Qatar or abroad.

As an QMA member, you will receive the following benefits:
Receipt of the QMA mailbag, which contains information on medical meetings and conferences, held locally and abroad, details of continuing medical education programs and other announcements.
The quarterly Qatar Medical Journal (QMJ), featuring research papers and case reports written by local and foreign doctors, QMJ contains articles on current medical issues, news and information on both the local and foreign medical sciences, a forum page for members to voice their opinions, and professional announcements.
Reduced rates for insertion of professional announcements in the QMA journal.
Reduced rates in participation in all QMA activities, QMA organized workshops, seminars and conferences pertaining to medical and ethical issues in the medical field.

Members should come personally to QMA Office.
- Bring either of the following:
- Original Passport + Copy (OR)
- Lost membership card form
- Form should be signed by the applicant only
- Complete information

Approval to join an International Medical Association or practice in another country: QAR 150
- Original QMA membership card with valid date.
- Resident Visa.
- Experience certificates with duties and responsibilities included from all previous and current positions.
QMA Membership Certificate Fee: QAR 150
- Original Membership Card with valid expiry date (Original should be presented + Clear Copy)
- Resident Visa – all years of residency and employment in Qatar (Clear Copy) since joining QMA.
- Experience certificates with duties and responsibilities included – from all previous and current positions.
